Desktop mascot

An optional character on your desktop, ukagaka style, who comments on what you read.

The built-in mascot with a speech bubble

Turn it on

In Settings → General → Desktop mascot, turn on Show a desktop mascot (ukagaka). She appears standing on the taskbar, near the right edge of your main screen.

What she does

She reacts in a speech balloon when you start a VN, reach a new chapter or route, take a screenshot, go idle, come back, or close the game. The balloon never takes the focus, so it doesn't interrupt your game.

Mouse

Drag her anywhere. She remembers where you left her.
Click her for a reaction.
Double-click to open the app.
Right-click for a menu: Open Visual Novel RPC, Random VN from my wishlist and Hide the mascot.

Settings

Character image: use your own character, as a PNG with a transparent background. Leave it empty for the built-in one.
Height in pixels: her size (420 by default).
Speech balloons: turn off for a silent mascot.
Keep it above other windows: off by default, so she stays on the desktop, behind your windows.
Put it back in the corner: if she got lost off-screen.

Using your own character

Any PNG with transparency works. Empty margins around the character are cropped automatically, then it's scaled to the height you set.
